Chapter 22: Feeding

Chapter 22: Feeding

To achieve this feat, I had meticulously mutated the lotus, much like the blood-absorbing roots. However, this mutation was focused on enabling the lotus to absorb and store sunlight without burning itself and turn to ashes in the process. It required infusing the fire element during the mutation process, granting the lotus an inherent affinity for fire. This allowed the lotus to gather the surrounding fire element, which manifested as the small fireball at its core

If the lotus is naturally left for a long time it will continue to grow and develop on its own over time, eventually becoming as magnificent as the one hanging above the sky in the realm. However, I didn't have to wait that long for that to happen, as I have the most potent fireball in existence suspended in space. When I opened the sky in my realm, I had the lotus focus on absorbing the excess sunlight from the sun.

The crucial aspect was ensuring that the growth of the plant matched the growth of the fireball at its core. If they were not in harmony, the fireball would become too intense and scorch the lotus. Therefore, I meticulously synchronized their growth, allowing the lotus to accommodate the fireball without being consumed by its fiery energy.

In its natural state, the lotus would adapt and adjust to the presence of the fireball, preventing it from causing harm. However, my power allowed me to expedite this process. I sensed the energy within the lotus and understood that it would sustain itself for approximately twenty years. Hence, every twenty years from now on, the sky in my realm would open once more, allowing the lotus to replenish its energy.

Now that I had a reliable light source, I could retrieve all the valuable herbs I had cultivated throughout the years. However, before embarking on that task, I need to get my son back from Mahu's care.

Remembering what happened when Mahu wanted to open a portal in my realm, I decided on calling on her to let her know that I am coming before the portal opened before and i now found myself in Mahu's realm.

I walked into Mahu's castle and found her in a spacious room with a large mirror displaying the moving image of Maul, her son. As I approached, I couldn't help but ask.

"How is he doing?" I inquired, peering into the mirror.

"Not so well, but he is learning and adapting fast," she replied with a hint of worry in her voice.

Her next words caught me off guard. "I thought you were never going to come back for your son," she said, her tone tinged with surprise.

Confusion filled my mind. "What do you mean?" I questioned, trying to make sense of her statement.

"It's been a month since we last saw each other," she explained.

Realization dawned upon me. "So I slept for a month?" I couldn't believe that what felt like a brief rest had turned into such a lengthy slumber. It seemed exhaustion had taken a greater toll on me than I had realized. Read lat𝙚st chapters at nov(𝒆)lbin.com Only

"I didn't know that I slept that long," I responded after a brief moment of reflection

She swiped at the mirror, turning it back to normal, walked by me and said " Follow me, he has been sleeping for a while. It's time for him to wake up"

I followed behind her and she steadily climbed the stairs. I couldn't help but be attracted by her figure and body that was being shown by her almost silky see through dress. It seemed she felt me looking so she added a bit more sway to her hips.

Before I knew it, we were in her room, and a small changed detail caught my attention, it was a small baby bed right beside Mahu's own bed. I felt a tinge of connection from my blood knowing that that was where my son lay.

I walked past Mahu to the small bed, and as soon as I got close the boy's eyes opened and his peculiar green eyes stared at me before he started making small sounds and stretched out his hand towards me.

I reached down and scooped him up. I felt his joy before his small baby fingers grabbed one of my fingers and put it to his mouth and started sucking it.

"It seems little Ikem also missed his father," Mahu remarked beside me.

"I missed him too," I replied, my voice filled with genuine affection. Then, turning to Mahu, I expressed my gratitude, "Thank you, Mahu, for taking care of him."

She reminded me of her role, teasingly asking, "I'm his mother, remember?"

"Indeed you are," I responded, letting out a light chuckle. A smile graced her face, and I couldn't help but appreciate her smile.

"Now hand him to me," she requested, taking the baby from my arms and settling onto her bed.

She cradled the baby as she sat down before grabbing her dress pulling it down from the left side. She pulled her breast out and guided it to the baby's mouth.

I just stood there awkwardly until she looked up and said " He is sucking your finger because he is hungry and wants milk" I just nodded accepting her word.

Female gods can also milk or is it her divinity for motherhood, whatever it was it was still taken back by Mahu's action. I have seen her naked but that was just it, nothing has happened.

Seeing her feeding my son in front of me so freely without shame, a feeling welled up in my chest. Since I have always been one that doesn't act on emotions, I paid little to no heed to the feeling as a chair made of woods shaped behind me and I sat down on it.

I sat there and watched as my son vigorously sucked on his mom's breast. It occurred to me that during the time of his growth, I will need to find something that will serve as a replacement for Mahu's breast milk or I will continue bothering Mahu with feeding him.

Looking at Mahu, who appeared at ease while tending to our child, I realized that finding a replacement for her milk might not be needed and that feeding Ikem might not be much of a burden for her. However, for my own sake and convenience, it was necessary.

Various options crossed my mind, such as sheep milk, cow milk, and even almond milk, which I could create with my abilities. Lost in thought, I was jolted back to reality by Mahu's voice.

"Every time I take my eyes off you, you seem to get lost in your own thoughts," Mahu remarked, now finished with feeding the baby. She stood up and handed him over to me.

"I can't help it. Besides, you always bring me back," I replied, cradling the sleepy baby in my arms.

Preparing to return to my realm and embark on this new chapter of my life, Mahu brought up something unexpected. "Do you remember what we agreed upon before forming our alliance?" she asked.

I looked at her, with a spark of recognition "You mean how our divine abilities can complement each other and help bridge the gap with our respective siblings?"

She nodded approvingly. "Exactly. I'm glad you remembered. So, how far have you progressed with your own divinity?" Mahu inquired.
