Qiao Mu held the card and shook it before Li Yan. She pretended not to know what the card was about. “Uncle, what is this?”
Li Yan smiled, and there was a nonchalant expression on her face. Even though he knew that she was acting dumb, he explained patiently, “It’s a shopping card for a mall selling branded goods. Qiao Mu was so exasperated that she almost died when she heard what Li Yan said. But he did not notice how frustrated she was and continued, “My dear niece, are you satisfied with my performance?”
“Li Yan, you’re ptanking me!” Qiao Mu could not take it anymore. She tossed the shopping card onto the office table and glared at him with gritted teeth. “I want money. 300,000 RMB! I don’t mind if you give me a cheque, cash, or transfer the money to my account! I don’t want a shopping card! You promised to give me money!”
This man was too much. He had gone back on his words. He deceived her into coming over and gave her a pile of branded clothes and bags as well as a shopping card. What did he take her for?
Li Yan’s facial expression became darker and darker. He narrowed his dark orbs and crossed his hands before his chest. “When had I promised you money?”
Qiao Mu was so pissed that she was rendered speechless!
All right, now that she thought about it, it was true that he did not ask her to come over for money!
Qiao Mu was so pissed that she could hardly breath. She was only able to suppress her anger after quite a long time. It would not do her any good to get into Li Yan’s bad books. This man was even more dangerous than what she had expected. She must not infuriate her!
Qiao Mu forced a smile. “Uncle, you cannot do this to me. I’m already yours, but you’re not even willing to give me such a small sum of money. Don’t you think that this isn’t befitting of a renowned and powerful man like you?”
Li Yan sat down in his office chair. He raised his head to look at the cunning little thing. “My dear niece, you’re the one who said that as long as I give you 300,000 RMB to buy luxury goods, we would be even.”
Qiao Mu gritted her teeth. He wanted them to be even after giving her a pile of junk?
Qiao Mu made up her mind and plopped down onto Li Yan’s thighs. She wrapped her arms around his neck. “But… things are not yet even between us, are they?”
Li Yan was calm and expressionless as Qiao Mu did this. She looked so innocent and naive, but she was willing to go to great lengths just for what she wanted. Well, he did want to see how far she would go for money!
Qiao Mu practically did not care about her reputation anymore. She lowered her standards and decided to settle for less money. “Uncle, if you think that I’m not worth 300,000 RMB, you can give me whatever amount you want. But you should give me something to show that you appreciate me, shouldn’t you?”

Li Yan’s gaze darkened. His profound dark orbs were tremendously icy. His expression was also very dark.
Qiao Mu was shocked by his sudden change in expression. Whenever Li Yan was not smiling, he had a natural coldness and aloofness about him. And right now, his lips were downturned, and together with how icy his black eyes were, Qiao Mu felt a chill run down his spine.

“Uncle, I… I really…” Qiao Mu was still trying to keep her secret from him, but halfway through the sentence, she decided to swallow her words. She felt that if she continued trying to explain herself, things would end horribly for her.
Li Yan smiled, but his expression was cold. He uttered a warning, “Even if you don’t tell me the truth, I can get someone to investigate the matter. But things would end differently if I were to find out the truth after an investigation compared to if you just come clean with me.”
He paused for a moment before continuing, “You should understand what I’m talking about.”
Qiao Mu trembled violently!
