Chapter 17: The Ambitious Bad Boy (Part 2)

Watching Finn Lewis walk away, Sharp James shook his head. This kid was a

serious grudge-holder. He knew exactly why Finn wanted to call Cora Franklin over. Wasn’t it blatantly just to annoy that girl? Thinking more about it, he figured he’d be just as furious if he were in her shoes. The boy would rather give it away for free to someone else than give it to her.

In the end, they got nothing out of the situation and had made fools of themselves. But considering what Finn had said, Sharp James thought it might be a smart move to explain the situation to that girl. If she were to go to the press and accuse the police of embezzling confiscated items? He had the donation certificate, sure, but who knows how the media would spin it. Sharp James had no intention of creating more problems for himself.

Once they left the police station, Headmaster Green started speaking, “Mr.

Lewis, would you like to ride with me to school? We could chat in my office.”

“Headmaster Green, thank you for coming to testify for me. However, as you can see, things were a bit complicated today. And I still have some matters to attend to. Therefore, how about we meet up tomorrow instead?” responded Finn words.

“Sure, I’ll be waiting in my office tomorrow morning.” Headmaster Green glanced at Luca Hall who stood beside Finn, and there was a tinge of envy in his eyes. He understood exactly what Finn intended to do next. Both he and Mr. Wood had seen the stock transfer form held by Luca.

As soon as Finn signed his name, he would own 4.8% of A Company’s shares.

To be precise, that was a wealth of 313 billion Federal coins! When converted to Flame Nation coins, it was more than 180 billion! Can you comprehend that figure?

After Headmaster Green left, Finn turned towards Luca, extended his hand, and said smilingly, “Mr. Hall, thank you for your help. Without you, I wouldn’t have known how to solve today’s problem.”

“Mr. Lewis, there’s no need to be humble. With your astounding capabilities, you wouldn’t face any problems even without anyone’s help.” Mr. Hall replied respectfully.

Laughing joyfully, Finn replied, “Mr. Hall, I really fancy what you just said. Yes, I fancy it a lot!” He found Mr. Hall to be quite intriguing. Such words put his heart at ease.

“I’ve grown quite fond of you, Mr. Hall. I’m not sure of your occupation in the North Federation or where you currently work, but I’m hoping you wouldn’t mind sharing it with me. How about we grab a meal now? My treat,” Finn suggested cheerfully.

“Mr. Lewis, ‘admiration’ may be a more apt term for your feelings towards me. Besides, I believe you’re interested in pretty ladies rather than an old fogey like me,” Luca shrugged and pointed out.

“Haha, interesting. Let’s go. Any preferences for food? To be honest, I’m not sure where to find a well-known Federal restaurant in Celeston City,” Finn chuckled.

“No, I’m not keen on Federal meals. Let’s settle for Xiyan Cuisine!” Luca replied quickly.

Finn paused for a moment, then responded with a smile, “Alright, we’ll have

Xiyan Cuisine.” Updat𝒆d fr𝒐m nov𝒆lb(i)n.c(o)m

Finding a Federal restaurant might be difficult, but finding Xiyan Cuisine was relatively easy. Finn quickly located a respectable Xiyan Cuisine restaurant. Although it was his first time there, he had no worries. With lots of money, there was no hurry.

They ushered themselves into a private room and found a server. Finn had no issues with spicy food, but he did not expect Luca to be so knowledgeable about food. Luca appeared to be a connoisseur of Flame Nation cuisine, rattling off a string of dish names fluently, even mixing in some Xiyan phrases that took the server by surprise.

Once they were served, they didn’t start eating immediately. Luca quickly pulled out two documents from his bag. “Mr. Lewis, these are the stock transfer agreements entrusted to me by the A Company Board of Directors. As soon as you sign this stock certificate, you will own 4.8% of A Company’s shares, becoming A Company’s largest individual shareholder.”

“Hmm.” Finn responded, his excitement evident. Though he didn’t understand the legal jargon in the document, even if it was in both Flame Nation and

Federal languages, he knew it was significant.

Zero’s voice echoed at the right moment, “There aren’t any issues with these two files. You can sign.” And with Zero having vouched for it, Finn found it easy to sign his name.

Having quickly signed his name on the documents, he passed them back to

Luca. Luca checked it carefully and then extended his hand to say, “Congratulations, Mr. Lewis. Welcome to the ranks of the world’s wealthiest.”

Finn chuckled. Luca was indeed likable. “The pleasure is mutual, Mr. Hall. Congratulations to you as well on earning your hefty commission. Now, could you perhaps elaborate on your major line of work in the North Federation?”

Upon hearing this, Luca became excited. He knew why Finn was asking this but chose to stay silent. He quickly explained his job responsibilities in the North Federation. After listening, Finn asked with a smile, “So, Mr. Hall, would you consider working for this member of the world’s wealthiest?”

“Absolutely! Should I start calling you my boss?” Luca responded without missing a beat.

“Aren’t you interested in your salary?” Finn asked with a teasing grin.

“I trust that a member of the world’s wealthiest would never shortchange his employees,” retorted Luca, standing up for his rights.

Finn couldn’t help but laugh again. Who said foreigners couldn’t suck up?

As Finn chatted with Luca, Headmaster Green and Mr. Wood also returned to school. As Mr. Wood was preparing to leave, Headmaster Green called him into his office. After some thought, he voiced, “Mr. Wood, you were involved in this too. You know how sensitive these matters can be, and some things aren’t to be propagated. However, about Cora Franklin’s matter, perhaps we should conduct an investigation? As per school regulations, isn’t it strictly stipulated that no one is to cross a certain boundary when it comes to cohabitation?”

“Er, yes,” Mr. Wood answered while caught off guard. These were school regulations, and Mr. Wood was in no position to argue. Although, he didn’t get why Headmaster Green would say such a thing. Understanding his cue to leave, Mr. Wood agreed, “I see. I’ll join in for the meeting later,” and left Headmaster Green nodding in his office..
