Splitting the Heavens

Chapter 939: Superior Worlds, Spirit Words, Azure Worlds

Chapter 939: Superior Worlds, Spirit Words, Azure Worlds

“The Star Origin Guards are split into 7 camps and every one of them contains 7 squads with 7 Star Origin Guards each. Every expert in the squad has the qualifications to receive a Star Robe. Among the Star Origin Guards, they have a total of 343 Star Robes. The lowest cultivation one needs to own a Star Robe as a Star Origin Guard is the Martial Extermination Realm. The individual cultivation level of anyone in the Star Origin Guard can range from the Martial Extermination Realm to the Martial Void Realm.”

“If we consider the Star Robes alone, it can be considered a high-grade artifact. Even though it’s pretty special, it can only provide a limited boost to one’s combat strength. The true benefit of the Star Robes is the ability to deploy the Star Origin Guards’ special battle formation. The lowest requirement of a battle formation is for 7 Star Origin Guards to be working together. That is also why a squad consists of 7 guards. It’s possible to deploy the battle formation without 7 experts, but its might would drop considerably.”

“Also, there has to be an expert in the Martial Dipper Realm or higher in every squad. They would take on the role of the captain and the moment the battle formation is deployed, the squad would be able to fight any existence under the Martial Void Realm.”

“The full battle formation consists of an entire camp, with all 49 members of the Star Origin Guards taking part in the battle. Even if a Martial Void Realm True Immortal isn’t available to take on the role of the leader of the formation, they will still be able to challenge a Martial Void Realm expert. I might not have seen it before, but since the establishment of the Star Origin City, a full 49-man battle formation has been deployed more than once!”

“In a full battle formation, if a Martial Void Realm True Immoral takes the lead, even I have no idea what level of power they will be able to achieve. However, there are legends that since the establishment of the Star Origin Guards, commanders of each camp are made up of True Immortals. However, those are mere rumors. In the ranks of our Star Origin Guards, there has never been a time when all 7 Camp Commanders were made up of True Immortals. Right now, among the 7 Camp Commanders, it’s said that 3 of them are True Immortals in the Martial Void Realm. The rest are experts at the peak of the Martial Dipper Realm. Comparing the collective strength of our current Camp Commanders to the Camp Commanders of the past, they are actually slightly above average...”

“...”

After Luo Qi’s lengthy explanation and revelation, Shang Xia gained a better understanding of the power structure of Star Origin City.

Perhaps the 2 of them had built up some sort of trust and recognition for each other during the confrontation earlier, but Luo Qi answered Shang Xia’s question honestly. He didn’t reveal the true secrets of the Star Origin Guards while describing everything he could in detail. That allowed Shang Xia to gain a much deeper understanding of their power.

Of everything they described, Shang Xia was particularly interested in their Star Robes. It seemed to be the core secret of their battle formation and with the boost from the robes and their battle formation, the Star Origin Guards gained the capabilities to control the city.

It was a pity those secrets were things the Star Origin Guards would never share. There wasn’t a need to mention Luo Qi. Even the captain they ran into earlier, or the Camp Commanders, wouldn’t know the secrets. Perhaps, only the true Guard Commander knew the secret of the robes.

In the hundreds of years that passed, it wasn’t as though there weren’t any Star Robes that had been damaged or completely destroyed. As long as it wasn’t completely destroyed, they would be able to repair those robes. If one’s Star Robes were verified to be completely destroyed by their enemies, they would be able to get another one. Whatever it was, there were only 343 Star Robes in the Star Origin Guards. There was never an extra one, or any less.

According to Luo Qi, the materials required to craft Star Robes were extremely rare. It was the reason they couldn’t expand the Star Origin Guards at all. Not even another squad could be formed.

There were some people who suspected that the Star Origin Lord was the only person who controlled some of the key materials required to craft the robes. Even if the production method was leaked, no one would be able to craft them.

The Star Robes might be a high-grade artifact, but that didn’t mean that it possessed a fixed level of strength. It would adapt to the user’s cultivation level and even though the robes looked the same, its uses would be completely different in the hands of a Martial Dipper Realm expert compared to a Martial Extermination Realm expert.

As for the Star Origin Guards Battle Formation, other than the fact that it required users to be wearing Star Robes, ordinary Star Origin Guards only knew a portion of how the battle formation worked.

Luo Qi mentioned that he knew a portion of the battle formation, but he made an oath never to leak it. Even if information about it was leaked, other people wouldn’t be able to deduce the entire battle formation anyway.

Shang Xia chuckled in amusement, “So... How did those 7 come up with an imitation of your Star Origin Guards Battle Formation then?”

Luo Qi was taken aback by his question and he failed to find his words.

Shang Xia continued laughing. “Right. When your ex-comrades came to capture them, why didn’t you mention the battle formation?”

Luo Qi didn’t answer him directly. Instead, he asked a question of his own. “Wait. You said that Wu Heng and the others arrived before those bandits surrounded us. Are you serious?”

Seeing the serious look on Luo Qi’s face, Shang Xia understood the impact his answer would bring about. However, there was no point in hiding anything. He replied honestly, “Yes.”

Luo Qi’s expression sank and he fell silent for some time as he continued to lead the way towards the city.

Shang Xia didn’t say much either. He followed behind Luo Qi quietly.

They might have formed a certain level of trust for each other, but at the end of the day, they knew each other for less than a day. Shang Xia’s reminder was a favor to Luo Qi, but he didn’t plan on interfering too much in the matters of a stranger.

After entering the city, Shang Xia discovered that even though the walls were massive, there didn’t seem to be too many defenses stopping cultivators from entering and leaving.

Now that Luo Qi had returned to a place he seemed more familiar with, and adjusted his mental state, he finally regained some of his initial optimism. A smile returned to his face and he chuckled, “Young Master Shang, now that we have arrived in the city, what are your plans?”

“What do people who come here for the first time choose to do?” Shang Xia replied.

Luo Qi didn’t seem fazed at his question. He quickly responded, “That will depend on what type of people they are. If they have some sort of foundation, they will definitely head over to the Star Relay to set their coordinates. In the future, there will be no need to arrive in the wilderness or use some risky method to send themselves over. As for those without proper foundations, or those who are slightly weaker... It would be advisable not to leave coordinates from the Star Relay.” The sourc𝗲 of this content nov(𝒆l)bi((n))

Shang Xia couldn’t help but capture a portion of what he was trying to say. “What do you mean by foundations?”

“I saw the entire process of your arrival in the wilderness and if I’m not mistaken, there should be a True Immortal who assisted you in getting here. As such, you’re definitely not someone with no foundations. Weaker cultivators who arrive in the Land of Star Origin without the backing of a Martial Void Realm Ancestor, might come from a pretty backward world. As such, they shouldn’t leave their coordinates in the Star Relay. After all, the moment the location of their home world is revealed, they might be invaded by stronger existences. They might become culprits who caused the destruction of their homeland...” Luo Qi explained.

Shang Xia’s eyelids jumped slightly. “Do you mean to say that the Star Relay isn’t located in the city? Will recording my coordinates cause my world to be easily discovered by others?”

“Of course, the location of your world wouldn’t be leaked easily. The sea of stars is vast and there are all sorts of people who possess a vast array of skills. Is there anyone who can say with absolute certainty that they would be able to keep the coordinates of their world hidden perfectly? The Star Relay is connected to the various worlds to allow the smooth transfer to and fro. It also serves to protect the actual coordinates one transfers to, but whenever anyone heads over for the first time, the members of the Star Relay will still provide you the same reminder. ” Luo Qi sighed.

Shang Xia nodded in response. He agreed with what Luo Qi said about being careful. However, he quickly spoke about something else. “Right. Anyway, wouldn’t that mean that one would have to be in the Martial Void Realm in order to make use of the Star Relay effectively?”

Luo Qi added, “Young Master Shang, you probably come from a Spirit World. The World’s Will of a Spirit World is able to provide some shielding to prevent unwanted guests from entering. There’s no need to be a Martial Void Realm expert.”

Realizing that the members of the Elysiums in the Spirit Luxuriant World probably already set up their coordinates in the Star Relay, Shang Xia could only nod silently to himself. From what he was saying, the experts of the various Elysiums probably didn’t need their Martial Void Realm Ancestor to send them over personally every time. All they had to do was use some essence crystals to activate the void guidance of the Star Relay to send them over.

Also, the experts of the Elysiums probably couldn’t travel back and forth easily. After all, the consumption of essence crystals was massive! To be exact, the essence crystals required to activate the relay were high-grade essence crystals. No matter how rich they were, it was just too damn expensive!

Fortunately, they had the support of Martial Void Realm Ancestors. In the past, there was no way they would have revealed the existence of the Azure Origin World or Azure Spiritual World. They probably left the coordinates of a certain region close to their world and their Martial Void Realm Ancestor would bring them back when the time came. Even if anyone spied on their coordinates, they wouldn’t be able to find the location of their worlds.

Now that they had become the Spirit Luxuriant World, they were finally qualified to leave their actual coordinates in the Star Relay.

Thinking back to what Kou Chongxue said when he sent him over, Shang Xia recalled that he had a very important task he needed to take care of. He spoke suddenly, “Brother Luo, do you know which worlds have publicly opened up their coordinates in the Star Relay?”

Staring at Shang Xia with a strange look, Luo Qi eventually muttered, “As of right now, there are only 2 Superior Worlds that provided their coordinates openly in the Star Relay. As for Spirit Worlds and Azure Worlds... There are 4 Spirit Worlds and 6 Azure Worlds in total. Of course, there are definitely experts of other worlds present and some coordinates have been discovered. Only those who left their coordinates would know where it leads to. If anyone tries to send themselves over, they will have to prepare themselves in case they are thrown into a dangerous region.”

“What do you mean by Superior Worlds? Are they even better than Spirit Worlds? Also, what are the 4 Spirit Worlds? What about Azure Worlds? Do they actually have the courage to openly leave their coordinates there? Aren’t they afraid of being invaded?” Shang Xia threw out several questions in rapid succession.
