Chapter 25: The Event of Hunting the Lord Inferno (End) Part III

“Looks like its HP has been lowered to 12 million already. Just for a moment, you wait and see.”

Right after Thada’s words, Lord Inferno let out a loud growl that shook the ground. It sounded more frightening than usual. The monster blended down again. It was in the familiar that Wisana could recognize it and understand what it was going to do next.

“It’s about to fly again!” The young man shouted out. The gunner pressed her lips tight together as she reloaded the magazines quickly. Just in the blink of an eye, the massive pair of wings spread, its red bloody eyes gazing at the enemy deadly.

“I’m not going to let you fly!” Maysa cried out at the top of her lungs, grabbing her weapons tightly in the ready position.

Lock shot!!

White light beams of the bullets were fired at Lord Inferno before it could make its way to the air. A second later, the light beams became glowing threads to tangle up around the gigantic figure, before the thread transformed into a thick chain to hold it still.

“This is the time! Vincent, Warunya, hit it with all you got!!” Maysa shouted, aiming her barrels to fire at the chained monster in a rapid combo.

“Drill shot!”

The most powerful bullet of Maysa pierced the biggest amount of damage through her target, making it scream so loud that it echoed through the area. As well as Wisana who shifted close, giving the sign to Warunya to hit it with a combo of the freezing blast.

GRROWL!!!

The fire demon kept screaming as it struggled helplessly since the chain was holding it to the ground also decreased its armors by another 5%

Now, the monster’s health point had frighteningly decreased to 8 million already.

“We got him, May!” Wisana shouted from above.

“Don’t underestimate him! A high-level boss like this always has a surprise trick! It's not going to end this easily! And the chain only holds for 5 minutes! Be careful!” Maysa reiterated with a serious tone.

GRROWLL!!!

While Maysa was busy reloading her weapons again, Lord Inferno let out the loudest and most frightening growl that made the glass window nearby vibrate harshly until it was broken into pieces. The trio had to stop everything they were doing to cover their ears.

“Ow, my ears hurt. The hell are you doing?!” Wisana cursed, feeling pissed.

A few moments later, the ground beneath Maysa’s feet started to quake and split open. The hot steam floated up from the crack, the red lava starting to flood the area slowly, forcing Maysa to leap onto the closest building.

“Holy crap! What is it now, you asshat! You’re really too OP, huh.” The girl was so hotheaded, cursing nonstop at the monster after she could stand on the top of a 3-storey building.

“Vincent, what is happening?” Warunya asked with a panicked voice.

“I don’t know, either, but hold on tight,” Wisana replied carefully, as he saw from above that the area started to change slowly. Those players who were stalking them started to climb up, getting away from the ground, too.

“Geez, these guys. We’re fighting to the death, but they’re having fun taking photos like the creepy paparazzi.” Wisana’s grumbling complaint made the girl in his arms giggle. Oh, my, how could he still be annoyingly hilarious in a situation like this?

But just a short while later, Jinnie spoke up and Wisana paused.

“Lord Inferno has called out the minions, Nova. I suggest you run because the levels are beyond different.”

Her words made Wisana pale with a cold sweat. And below him, the magma on the ground started to lump up together and become something of a hot fire ball, except it was way bigger than a ball and it had the mouth and eyes of a scary devil.

“Oh, crap! This will never end!”

A second later, there were 20 of them that screeched out loud a treble noise, launching themselves at Wisana. who was flying in the air at the same time!

“Lord Inferno definitely commanded them to come after you. Go now!”

“No need to tell me that. That’s what I’m doing!”

The tall figure flew forward at such a high speed that the pair of flame wings started smoking. In fact, it felt like he was flying at 180 kilometers per hour already!

“Don’t get caught, Vincent. If you fail, you’re dead!” Maysa shouted as she saw the group of nova minions was creepily leaping at Wisana. They also seemed to be faster than him, too, since those fire balls could come alongside the flying team, now!

“Vincent, can you please fly steadier? I'll try throwing the bombs at them!” As she finished, Warunya plucked off the safety pin and threw the bomb over Wisana’s shoulder right away.

The dark color bomb was floating directly to one of the targets, but it just rolled off to the side, dodging the attack easily, leaving the freezing blast to become like a soft wind.

“It evaded!” Her little voice shouted, sounding panicked.

“It’s Okay. I'll try baiting it to crash into the building!” Wisana decided quickly.

His personal computer alarmed; the young man gritted his teeth. At the same time, a lumpy magma rushed to head him off, making it almost too late for Wisana to hit the break.

GEEZE!!

It cried out in a treble tone...

In the blink of an eye, the magma ball started to swell rapidly. And then his senses kicked in, making Wisana see what was about to happen next!

“Watch out, Warunya! It's about to explode!!” He said as he held her closer, then he deactivated these wings of the fire demon with a sound of ‘poof’!

BOOM!!!

A huge flame blasted in front of them, but the butterfly effect ability saved the two in the nick of time. The red scarf absorbed the damage and turned it into energy to fly in just a second.

“Activate wings of the fire demon!!” He commanded and the flame-blazing wings were ignited again.

“That was close.” Wisana blew out in relief, continuing to fly away.

“Excellent, master. The damage has been transformed into energy for the butterfly effect.”

The pair of amber eyes glared at his hologram screen immediately.

“It can boost up this much?!” The hoarse voice yelled. This meant that the nova’s attack could do a lot of damage, too. If they got hit without the scarf, they would probably be dead by now. Then, a crazy, reckless idea popped up in his mind, bringing a cunning smirk to the young man’s face.

“What are you smiling about, Vincent?” The gentle voice asked with curiosity.

“I think I got a plan.” As he finished, he released a huge amount of energy to fly at full speed again, leaving the 19 magma balls behind without even a glance back. But when he was close to and could see his destination clearly, someone just screeched out to greet him.

“KYAAAA!! You moron! Why are you pulling them this way?!” Of course, it had to be Maysa who was screeching like this. Right now, she was gasping, eyes bulging as she saw her party carrying the new friend, flying full speed in her direction!

And the most important thing was that the moron was pulling the parade of explosive flying balls with him, too.!

“Stop complaining,” Wisana replied, deadpan. “Catch Warunya!”

“W... What?!” The command was so unexpected that it made the girl pause.

“Catch Warunya!” He repeated. Then he whispered to the girl in his arms. “I’m gonna drop you off here with her. Tell her to proceed to plan B. I'll stall Lord Inferno as long as I can.”

“Eh? Are you serious?!” Warunya yelled.

“Just trust me.” He winked at her. Even though there was a mask covering half of his face, Warunya was still feeling hot on the cheeks as she nodded obediently.

In just a few seconds, the tall figure was flying straight to Maysa, who was in the position to catch Warunya, so Wisana tossed the girl down to her arms. Then he flew away, leaving the girls to crash into each other with a loud THUD noise.

THUD!!

“Ow, ow, my butt’s hurt again!” Maysa whined.

“Er... I feel like I'm a bit air sick somehow.” The same with Warunya as she was covering her mouth, looking like she was about to throw up.

When Maysa could get ahold of herself again, she worriedly looked up for her party without any idea of what he was thinking. Then a few moments later, the man appeared in her sight again, flying with the 19 fire balls chasing after him.

The pair of sharp amber eyes gazed at the empty sky in front of them. The air rubbing against him was getting hotter as he was flying fast through it. He continued to go up higher and higher until he reached above the cloud. Then he put out the flame wings!

GEEEEZE!!

The nova minions were screeching happily in unison as they saw the target finally stop flying. They then rapidly rushed forward to crash into him.

And it was the second that a satisfied smile appeared on the handsome face.

BOOM!!!!

The blast was so excessive that it vibrated through the ground, drawing the girl’s attention. They were bulging with panic.

“What is he planning to do?” The clear voice of Maysa spoke.

“Well... he said that you could proceed to plan B, Maysa. He also said that he would stall Lord Inferno for a while.”

Her words got the gunner stunned. She looked back and forth between Warunya and the guy in the sky for a few moments. Then, a sweet smile was brought up to her smooth face, complementing her sparkling eyes.

“Oh, I see. Sometimes that guy can come up with a good idea, too.”

“Y... you know what he meant?”

“Well, let’s just say that we should follow his order now.” Maysa chuckled. “But damn, he’s really that crazy, huh. I can’t believe this guy, how come he’s such a foolhardy.”

“Aw, they’re only good at the intro?” Waree said wearily as she watched the smoke spreading in the middle of the sky above with a disappointed look on her face.

“The one with evasion skill always loses to the number of enemies. Once a whole gang of fire balls was after him, he was over. What a disappointment,” she said, sounding bored. Then she glanced at Maysa and Warunya, who started fighting the nova minions desperately.

“I don’t think just the two will be able to defeat the boss Inferno, Thada.” Her clear voice continued, then she sighed, looking at the man next to her who had been silent for a while now.

“I guess that you have to count on the other players to handle this. This party is small in number. They could have won if there were a couple more players that had defense and assault skills.”

There was still no response from Thada except for a soft sigh. He was watching the girls fighting against the gigantic monster that was chained up with the magic bullet, then he smirked, letting out a chuckle. He looked up at the dull layers of smoke in the sky, his eyes sparkling when he left a clue.

“Was the guy really over, though?”
