Chapter 9: Castle Part 4

King Adrian shook George's hand before sitting down, breathing a great sigh of relief, he was very close to bowing to the order Oz, but he was happy he didn't, although, in actuality, it wouldn't really make any difference since George would be happy as long he looked powerful in this situation.

"King Adrian, I hope this friendship between my city and your kingdom will remain this way for a long time." He said before returning his hand to his pocket.

Adrian nodded, "Of course." He replied before staring at the hand that had just shaken hands with who he thought to be Oz, 'Why does his hand feel so weak?' He thought before brushing the thought away, knowing that it couldn't be the case.

The door was suddenly knocked, causing everyone to turn towards it; Captain Roland quickly opened it only to see both of the guards that he gave lectures to holding a man with a mask. "Who is this?"

"Captain, this is the person we found in the basement, they have been snooping around, and they have been armed with weapons. Your instinct is excellent, Captain; if you hadn't told us not to go into the basement, this person would probably get away with it."

"But I didn't." the Captain replied as he looked at the guards with a puzzled look on his face. "I didn't tell anyone of you to go to the basement."

"But you gave us the order just now…."

"How many minutes ago?"

"About three?"

"I was still in the room three minutes ago." Captain Roland replied as he couldn't think of this situation; who had they been talking to, and who was pretending to be him?

George had his movement halted as he saw the guards holding the person that was in the basement, 'Come on, think!' He thought, trying to think about how to fix this situation.

"I did it," George said as he stood beside the window and looked outside.

"Great Wizard… you pretended to be me?"

"I saw a threat, and I solved it; it might not be in a way that you may like, but you're welcome." He said before pointing past the man that the guards caught.

Everyone in the room turned to find what he was pointing at, only to find nothing, but as they looked at the window that he was standing at, they could see that he had disappeared.

"Well, that is my sign to leave as well," Michael said as he extended his hand to the King.

The King shook Michael's hand while bowing his head slightly, "I would like to apologize again for not trusting you and even threatening you; I hope you will find it in your heart to forgive me."

Michael laughed it off before patting Adrian's leg as he was too short to pat his shoulders, "It's fine. I would do the same thing if I was you." He said as he turned to the room's exit.

"Sir Michael, I heard that the Great Wizard has gotten more powerful. Is that true?"

Michael glanced back to King and nodded, "He has gone past the human limit. If I were to estimate his strength… Well, I don't think I can. Because there is no limit to his power."

The King looked at the window where 'Oz' had disappeared. "Did he really reach godhood?"

Michael pointed up to the ceiling, "I am not a wizard, so I can't be sure, but one of them said this. So, amidst the realm where demigods find their strength confined, a solitary wizard arises, his power eclipsing the very essence of their divine might. In this vast tapestry of existence, where boundaries are but feeble shackles, he stands as an embodiment of unparalleled transcendence."

The Captain reasoned with this newfound information in his mind, he could accept the fact that the Great Wizard might be the most powerful wizard that has ever graced this planet, but to say that he was even more powerful than the demigods of the heavens was something that could be considered heretic to say.

But as Michael left the room, the attention three turned completely to the man in the mask. The Captain bent in front of him and opened the mask to show a person who had his skin torn off. It was near impossible to tell who he was based on his face now; it could be said that not even his mother could have told that he was her son.

A technique used by spy slaves to prevent the identity of their owner from being spread.

"My King. It is best you get to the safe house."

King Adrian nodded as he left the room with his knights guarding him.

"Put him in the chambers of the sinful." He said, following the guards to the other part of the basement where the castle had a temporary prison.

As they threw the spy into the dark prison and locked him inside. The Captain sat in front of it, staring at the spy, "Why are you here?"

The spy didn't answer and sat down in silence.

"Hmm, alright, who sent you?"

And again, the spy didn't answer; the Captain squinted as he noticed something strange with this spy; he wasn't ignoring what the Captain was saying; it was as if he couldn't listen at all.

The Captain took out his key and opened the prison before holding the spy by the neck and checking the ear. The eardrums of the spy had been damaged beyond repair, and as he forcefully opened his mouth, he could see that the spy's tongue had also been cut. 'What the heck….'

Suddenly the eyes of the spy darkened and took on a dark matt colour, something that the Captain had only seen once. And the eyes of the spy tear up as if they want the Captain's help, "This is… Dark witchcraft!!!" He screamed as he jumped out of the prison room.

"Run!!" He shouted at the guards near the room before it exploded, causing him and the guards to fly away from it, their backs being pushed away and causing their bodies to forcefully collide with the brick walls of the basement.
