Chapter 20: Chapter 20: We Are Family

While Rong Yue and her mother were focused on settling on, the whole school was in a different atmosphere as Tong Yang constantly asked questions that made her classmates worry for Rong Yue.

“She has never skipped school. What do we do?” She asked for like the tenth time. Some students felt like this matter wasn’t such a big deal and were no longer discussing with her while some enjoyed the fact that they were fussing over.

“Let’s just focus in class and finish, we are in our senior year after all.” Fang An said.

Although he lived within tricks and plots at home, he was in the end just eighteen years old and was desperately trying to figure out what plan Tong Yang could have.

“Class president, you might be heartless but Yue’er is my friend and we both know that this is unusual for her.” Tong Yang argued while Fang An rolled his eyes.

“If she’s your best friend, why don’t you have her number? Or her mother’s number at the very least?”

“You don’t know but she just got a phone like two days ago, her mother also doesn’t have a phone so there’s no one to call.” She replied with an act of someone that was helpless about the situation.

Fang An nodded and kept quiet while his mind worked fast to think of a way to contact Rong Yue. He had a feeling that Tong Yang was brewing something in her mind.

“You guys! Xie Rui is competing against our class Rong Yue for the school belle. There are three more people but I think that only Xie Rui is a worthy opponent.

“She’s not as attractive as Yue’er, also, her grades her only beyond average while Rong Yue is our year’s overall best student. Are they really competing?” Someone asked with a sigh.

To her, Rong Yue was the only one deserving of the award and so she didn’t put any other person in mind.

As Tong Yang heard the conversation, she clenched her fists in anger. She had a suspicion yesterday when Rong Yue had disappeared immediately, however, she had hoped that it wouldn’t be true.

Since her grades were terrible, she hadn’t qualified for the nominations of the school Belle, however, if Rong Yue could give up her spot, she had the intention of getting her father to speak to the teachers so they could give her a chance.

Even though she couldn’t get Rong Yue’s spot, she didn’t intend on giving up and so since there was some few minutes before the next class, she rushed out to see who the remaining nominees were.

After checking and seeing who they were, she nodded in satisfaction and wrote their names down.

There were lots of attractive girls in her school and even though there wasn’t anyone like Rong Yue that surpassed everyone with a wide gap, the larger share of them were very attractive.

But since their grades was a criteria, two of the girls on the list were also scholarships students like Rong Yue.

As she looked at their names, several thoughts rolled through her mind. The best thing would be to offer them money and also help for college.

If she made them feel that had something bigger to get, they would quickly relinquish the slot for her.

As she was about to turn back to class, a figure blocked her path making her look up at the clearly taller boy in front of her.

“What are you? Move from my path.” She commanded snidely allowing her terrible mood to seep out in her words.

“The last person that spoke to me like that doesn’t know how to use their mouth, don’t think you can go around using your Tong as some backing when it’s only so so.” The boy replied kissing his teeth and something about the way he looked down at her while also talking in a very low tone made Tong Yang feel like she was really lesser than him.

She turned hoping to pass another route before she brought the trouble that she couldn’t handle herself on her family, however, as soon as she moved, the boy pulled her back immediately.

“You want to win Rong Yue?” He asked.

Tong Yang looked up at him hoping to gauge his expression. He looked like he was serious and at the same time, he had a sinister look swirling in those eyes.

“Yes.” She nodded and the boy smiled evily.

“Good. Talk to the last girl on the list. If she doesn’t agree, I’ll know and I would get her to agree.” Updat𝒆d fr𝒐m nov𝒆lb(i)n.c(o)m

“The school belle’s position for this year, would definitely belong to you.” As he said that, he used his index finger to raise her chin up like as if assessing a good he wanted to buy.

After releasing her, he pulled out an handkerchief from his pocket and wiped those hands clean and then dumped it by her feet.

Tong Yang flushed red with embarrassment, yet, she stood there like he had done nothing while allowing his attractive face to mark a place in her mind.

“Thank you.” She whispered and the boy nodded and without anything, walked away from her.

As soon as he left , she let out a sigh in relief, all the tension from her body clearing immediately.

“Whew! Who is he that he dares to talk to me that way?” She thought angrily the courage that had disappeared just before returning immediately.

However, she looked at the name on her list and then went to the school’s forum to check for the student’s profile.

Just like she had guessed, the girl refused to give up the slot claiming she also wanted to try her luck.

“You don’t even stand a chance, but wait, I know the best thing for you.” She replied with a gloat as she looked around wondering if the boy was here.

After standing for five minutes and not seeing even his shadow, she gave up and went back to the classroom disgruntled.

“Have you been able to reach Rong Yue?” Someone asked as soon as she entered the class reminding her of the initial plan she had.

“Yes, she a bit sick, I intend on visiting her after school, if anyone of you is willing, we can go together.” She replied sweetly and then sat down.

She had been to Rong Yue’s house only once and couldn’t go back, even if this decision to do this was only because she was certain that after seeing her house, a lot of people would be unwilling to for her anymore.

As she imagined their reaction, a smile bloomed on her lips while her eyes gleamed with cruel satisfaction.
