Chapter 7: Yggdrasil Ⅴ

I looked back there and saw two players. One looked like a mage holding a large staff, while the other had a giant sword.

'Do I know them?'

I hadn't interacted with other players that much. But, then, how do they know my name?

I turned them and began moving in their direction. The moment I took the first step, they assumed a defensive stance. I halted my movement and raised both my arms to defuse the situation.

Momonga: "Don't be afraid! I'm not going to hurt you."

But all in vain- they still maintained their stance.

Momonga: "May I know how you know my name?"

They still didn't reply.

'Guess I have to do it the hard way.'

~Sigh~

I used *Life Essence*; this spell allows the caster to view the health values of an enemy.

I saw a very average Health pool around them. I then used *Mana Essence*; his spell allows the caster to view the MP of an enemy. The mage had significantly more MP than the warrior, but compared to mine, it was nothing. They were at most at level 70 to 80.

'There is a chance they are using *False Data: Life* and *False Data: Mana*, but looking at their apprehension and results from my spells, it doesn't seem like they are faking it.'

Guess only one way to find out. I quickly pointed my right hand toward their position.

Momonga: "*Boost Maximize Penetrate Twin Magic: Eviscerating Mana Lance*!"

Boost, Maximize, Penetrate, and Twin Magic are some of the mechanics of Yggdrasil that a mage could use.

Each has a unique effect; Boost magic can elevate the tier and power of the spell.

Penetrate magic increases the chance to penetrate the magic defenses or resistances of the target.

Twin magic allows the user to create the same object twice from that spell, eliminating the need for recasting.

Maximize magic amplifies a spell's offensive force to its utmost damage capability.

Two bright mana lances manifested above my hand and traveled toward the players.

It was a 5th Tier spell that manifested a mana lance, which exploded on the contact.

Because of my racial class, the delay in casting magic was negligible. Meaning as long as I had MP, I could spam spells.

[MP: 45 -> 30]

The players had no time to react before the lance struck them. If it was the real world, the surrounding area around them would've been utterly destroyed.

Not giving them any time to run or attack me, I used another spell.

Momonga: "Boost Maximize Twin Magic: True Dark."

Two columns of darkness descended from the sky, engulfing the two players. It was a 5th-tier spell that dealt None type damage to the enemy.

[MP: 30 -> 23]

Without wasting any time, I switched to my Doppelganger variant. I only had 4 seconds; after that, the spell would end. After transforming to my new variant, I lunged toward the two players without using any skills.

With my agility, it didn't take me long to reach them; at this point, the spell had already ended. I punched them, causing them to fall over.

Momonga: "Now, if you don't want to die and lose your stuff, I advice you to start answering my question."

I glared at them before asking my questions.

Momonga: "So, let's start with the names?"

I glared at the mage, who was an elven female.

Mage: "M-m-my name is rose."

Momonga: "Hmm, and you?"

Warrior: "Da-Dani, my name is Dani."

Momonga: "Hmm, now how do you know my name? I don't remember ever interacting with you."

Casting a glance at the mage and then back at me

Dani: "Are you familiar with the Dive streamer 'Maxer.'"

Momonga: "No."

Dani: "Do you remember killing a few players a few hours back."

I nodded to his question.

Dani: "Most of them are the members of a clan known as the 'Red Bears,' a powerful clan of humans and demi-humans. And their leader, Ivan, is the streamer 'Maxer.'"

Oh, I see; I killed him during his stream.

Momonga: "Anything else?"

Dani nodded and continued.

Dani: "He said to report you for cheating and to kill you if we saw you anywhere."

Momonga: "Interesting, very interesting. Anything more you want to tell me?"

Both the player shook their head.

Momonga: "Well, you have outlived your usefulness then."

I used "Quake Strike" to kill them.

[Nearby players will receive your location broadcast for an hour.]

Momonga: "System, search for this Ivan and give me his complete information after I log out."

["Understood, Master."]

I switched to my Demon variant and kept ascending the mountain.

~Scene Change~

I was standing in front of the opening of an icy cave. It was the third dungeon that I needed to clear to get the new racial and job classes.

As I approached the cave, I received a notification.

[Congragulations for discovering the dungeon of "Summit Sanctum."]

[Recomended level to challenge it: ???]

[Difficulty rating: ???]

I received the same notification when I discovered the dungeon of "Dreadfall Caverns." I already knew the difficulty rating and the levels of different mobs and the boss through my system.

According to this, the boss was an elven female mage with level 55. The dungeon didn't have multiple bosses.

'Let's get started.'

I had already stocked up on MP recovery potions, health potions, and all the necessary provisions. I entered the cave and encountered a narrow icy pathway that led into the dungeon. I kept walking for a few minutes until I saw some enemies.

Five feet tall arachnids with icy exoskeletons were swarming the pathway. They were known as Frostbite Spiders, level 43 monsters. Their attacks included venomous breath, burst, ice magic, and web traps.

I didn't waste any time and started casting spells.

'*Boost Maximize Magic: Mana Burst*.'

[MP: 45 -> 37]

A burst of mana extended from my outstretched hand and traveled toward the spiders. Resulting in them stumbling back and taking damage.

Not giving them a moment to react and cast a 6th-tier spell.

'*Boost Maximize Triplet Magic: Bursting Mana Orbs*.'

[MP: 37 -> 26]

Three Radiant orbs manifested around me and traveled toward the hoard of Frostbite Spiders. On contact, the orbs exploded, resulting in a lot dying.

[The effect of 'Advancement Amulet' has been applied. 118,000 EXP -> 177,000 EXP.]

[You have leveled up.]

[MP: 26 -> 45]

Because I leveled up, my MP automatically got refilled. Even though I managed to put a bent in their numbers, there were still a lot.

Some of the spiders had reached near me, so to stop their approach, I used Mana Shield. Without waiting any longer, I used another spell.

'*Boost Maximize Extend Widen Magic: Sodom's Fire and Brimstone.*'

[MP: 43 -> 20]

A fiery domain formed before me, engulfing all the spiders and dealing fire-type damage.

I cast another spell.

'*Boost Maximize Triplet Magic: Bursting Mana Orbs*.'

[MP: 20 -> 9]

As the orbs exploded, I received some notifications.

[Congratulations on Defeating 30 level 43 Frostbite Spiders! You have received 172,000 EXP]

[Congratulations for Defeating 10 level 44 Frostbite Spiders! You have received 67,000 EXP]

[The effect of 'Advancement Amulet' has been applied. 239,000 EXP -> 358,500 EXP]

'Two levels in a single go.'

I only won because of the element of surprise. I might not be lucky the next time. It is important to note that this dungeon was recommended to be raided by a team of at least four players.

I had to complete all nine dungeons solo; to get the quest's rewards.

'Let's get going.'

I picked up all the loot the spiders drooped.

'This will come in handy later.'

~ time Skip~

It has been a few hours since I entered the dungeon, and I have already leveled up four times. I cleared most of it and was about to reach the boss's room.

After about 15 minutes, I was in front of massive frozen doors. I had already distributed all the state points I earned. So, now I had 53 MP and 48 Magic Attack states.

After opening the door, I found myself in a massive circular hall covered in ice. Icy pillars around the walls supported the ceiling. Tiny colorful crystals embedded in the walls illuminated the hall.

At the far end of the hall, an ice throne sat, on which the dungeon's boss sat. The boss was a beautiful elven female with delicate features, long green hair, green eyes, and ample breasts. She was holding a massive staff in her right hand.

The staff had a wooden body with a large blue crystal embedded on the top. When she noticed me approaching her throne, she stood and took a stance, pointing her staff at me.

A gigantic ice ball formed above her staff and began to rush toward me at breakneck speed a few seconds later. It was a 3rd-tier spell known as *Ice Ball*; that dealt ice-type damage.

I also began casting my spell.

"*Boost Maximize Extend Widen Magic: Sodom's Fire and Brimstone.*"

[MP: 53 -> 30]

A fiery domain formed before me, engulfing her and dealing fire-type damage. Without wasting time, I used a new spell.

"*Boost Maximize Penetrate Magic: Fiery Jjavelin.*"

[MP: 30 -> 20]

A fiery javelin appeared in front of me and swiftly headed toward her. But the boss wasn't idling.

Before I could react, an ice spike materialized beneath me and pierced through my body.

[HP: 44 -> 30]

'Shit!'

I quickly used *Flash*, a 2nd-tier spell, to create distance between us.

[MP: 20 -> 19]

'She could use Silent Magic.'

Just like I was able to Boost spells, she was able to cast them silently.

I also could cast silently, albeit limited to a few spells.

Multiple daggers manifested above her staff and headed toward me. I managed to evade most of them using *Flase*, but some managed to hit me.

[HP: 30 -> 25]

I quickly used an MP recovery potion and a health potion.

[MP: 17 -> 20]

[HP: 25 -> 30]

'*Boost Maximize Magic: Grand Fireball.*'

[MP: 23 -> 15]

A massive fireball materialized above my head and surged toward her. Yet she skillfully blocked it using a shield made of ice.

I didn't give up and kept firing spells at her.

'*Boost Maximize Triplet Magic: Grand Fireball*'

[MP: 16 -> 2]

Three massive fireballs materialized above my head and surged toward her. While she successfully blocked one, the remaining two struck her with fiery force.

[Congratulations! for Defeating a level 55 Glacial Sorceress! You have received 11,000 EXP.]

[Effects of The effect of 'Advancement Amulet' has been applied. 11,000 EXP -> 16,500 EXP.]

[You have received the Glacial Staff.]

The 'Glacial Staff' was the item I needed to open the dungeon at the heart of Nifelheim.

~Scene Change~

I was collecting all my belongings from the 'Crypt Tomb.' It had been a few days since I cleared the dungeon of "Summit Sanctum." And today, I was moving to the clan base of Nine'e Own Goal, which was situated in Nifelheim.

"Let's get going."

I exited the tomb and started walking toward my destination. Over the past few days, I hadn't encountered any fans of Ivan.

According to the system's information, Ivan was a low-class citizen with a sizeable online presence.

But because of the poor economic situation of the world, he wasn't rich by any means. Many people watched his live streams, but only a few donated. And the money he did get from the donations was all spent on the Yggdrasil.

I decided to ignore him for the time being. But, if he tried to meddle in my affairs, I would kill him, source and all.

It took an hour to reach the clan's base. It was a deep cave divided into many sections for the members. I met up with the remaining members, Flatfoot and Wish III.

I got a separate section in the cave for myself. I stored all my items there and went to talk with the members. According to Touch, they were going to raid a dungeon.
