Chapter 27: Yggdrasil XXV

Chapter 27: Yggdrasil XXV

We kept venturing deep into the dungeon. It took us half an hour before we reached our first mini-boss. It was a humanoid figure made of branches. It had glowing green eyes.

Momong: "Get ready, guys!"

According to our strategy, Touch Me, Warrior Takemikazuchi and I would attack the boss. While the others would provide us with support.

Genjiro: "*Blessing of Magic Caster*, *Infinity Wall*, *Greater Full Potential*, *Paranormal Intuituion*, *Greater Resistance*, *Magic Boost*, *Greater Magic Shield*, and *Greater Luck*."

Genjiro cast many buffing spells on us.

Momonga: "Let's get the game on the road."

I used a 10th-tier spell to kick off the fight.

Momong: "*Boost Magic: Nature's Grasp*."

[MP: 92 -> 87]

Branches from the surrounding trees moved toward the boss and entangled it, making it unable to move. The spell prevented enemies from teleporting.

Momonga: "Now, Touch."

Touch

one of his skills that enabled him to ignore a portion of his target's defences. He lunged toward the boss and slashed his sword. At the same time, Takemikazuchi also attacked it with his Katana.

Takemikazuchi: "Take this!"

He used a combo skill that increased his damage with each successive strike.

After their attacks ended, the boss also attacked us. Earth spikes began to materialize from the ground, forming a trail toward us. We all jumped away from its path.

Without waiting, I used another 10th-tier spell.

Momonga: "*Aeolus' Wraith!*"

[MP: 87 -> 83]

This spell creates strong gusts of wind capable of cutting metal.

Momonga: "Now, Pero!"

Pero: "You got it."

He nocked an arrow and shot it toward the boss. On contact, it exploded, sending the boss flying backwards.

Momonga: "*Boost Widen Extend Magic: Fire Domain* and *Boost Extend Magic: Gravity Field*."

[MP: 83 -> 70]

A fire domain formed before me and engulfed the boss. I then cast *Fire Resistance* on Touch and Takemikazuchi.

They both entered the domain and began striking the boss. It took us a few more minutes before we could subjugate it.

Fortunately, it dropped the resource we were looking for.

[You have picked the 'Shard of Wood Essence.']

We continued our journey into the dungeon. We encountered many mini-bosses, but we managed to defeat them.

Now, we were standing before a cave's entrance. It was covered in vines and branches.

Touch: "The boss should be inside."

Momonga: "Yeah."

We then entered the cave. The inside was lit by illuminating flowers.

Momonga: "This looks nice."

Pero: "It sure does."

~Time Skip~

It took us 15 minutes to find and defeat the boss. It was a huge tree capable of summoning plant-type monsters.

But in the end, we managed to defeat it. It, too, dropped the resource we needed for the guild weapon.

[You have picked 20 'Shard of Wood Essence.']

Momonga: "Let's do it again."

We needed to raid the dungeon multiple times to get enough of the 'Shards of Wood Essence' for the guild weapon.

~Scene Change~

Momonga, Yamaiko and HeroHero were standing around a cute young girl. She had cat ears, black hair, a black tail, and golden eyes. She was wearing a revealing maid outfit.

Yamaiko: "She looks CUTEEE!"

Momonga: "Thanks."

HeroHero: "Hey, what are you naming her?"

Momonga: "I haven't thought of a name yet. Do you guys have any suggestions?"

They all started thinking about a name for the second NPC of Momonga.

Momonga: "Remember, the name needs to rhyme with Eta."

Some guild members banded together to create a group of battle maids. After much heated discussion, the members named the group 'Pleiades Battle Maids.'

Momonga was also one of the members. Till now, only 2 maids have been created, Solution Epsilon and Yuri Alpha. And now, Momonga was creating the third one.

Yamaiko: "Hmm. How about Felicity Eta."

Momonga: "I do like the sound of it. Let's go with this, then."

I used the creator's tools to name the new maid, Felicity Eta.

Yamaiko: "What classes have you think for her."

Hero: "Before you answer, Momonga-san. Have you thought about classes for my NPC?"

Yamaiko: "I am also waiting for your suggestions?"

Momonga: "Yup, I have thought about classes for your NPCs."

I looked toward HeroHero, who was the creator of Solution Epsilon.

Momonga: "For you, Hero-san. For her racial classes, I would suggest Slime, Greater Slime, Ancesstoral Slime, Shoggoth, Ubbo-Sathla, Predator Slime, and Glutonous Slime."

I then proceeded to tell him the total racial level of the classes.

HeroHero: "But that will exceed the Data Levels I have for her. I only have 54 to spare. And I don't have the money to buy extra."

Momonga: "Don't worry, you could use mine."

HeroHero: "Are you sure, Momonga-san?"

I nodded to his question.

HeroHero: "Arigato gozaimasu, Momonga-san."

Momonga: "Don't sweat it. Now, for the job classes, I would suggest Assassin, Master Assassin, Phantom and Poisoner."

HeroHero: "Arigato-nee, Momonga-san."

I then turned my head toward Yanaiko and told her my suggestions.

Yamaiko: "Those were good suggestions. Now, what classes are going to give her."

She pointed at Felicity.

Momonga: "I want her to be a ninja/my bodyguard/my exclusive maid."

Yamaiko: "Hmm."

Momonga: "As for her racial classes, I am thinking about Nekomimi, Werecat and Shadow Stalker."

I crossed my arms and continued speaking.

Momonga: "For her job class, I was thinking about Ninja, Shinobi, Kunoichi, Ninjutsu Apprentice, Ninjutsu Adept, Mystic Ninja, Dual Wielder, and Shadow Protector."

HeroHero: "Cool!"

Momonga: "I know, right?"

Yamaiko: "Yup."

We kept working on her for some time.

HeroHero: "Well, Momonga-san. I need to head to bed now. See you tomorrow."

Yamaiko: "Yeah, me too."

Momonga: "See you again tomorrow, then."

They both logged off. But I kept working on Felicity. Once I was done with her appearance, I used the class data I had gathered to give her classes.

Her status looked like;

...

Momonga: 'That's another NPC done.'

Momonga: "Come, Felicity, let's meet your sisters. Follow."

Felicity started following me. I took her to the members of Pleiades.

Momonga: "Felicity, she is your elder sister, Yuri Alpha. And she is Solution Epsilon." The sourc𝗲 of this content nov(𝒆l)bi((n))

I said while pointing toward the members of Pleiades.

Momonga: "And ladies, this is Felicity, the newest member of the Pleiades Battle Maids."

After introducing them, I kept conversing with them.

Momonga: "Well, Felicity, you have one more sister, but she is on the first floor. I'll take you to her someday. For now, you should guard the 9th floor of the Nazarick. Stay."

I left her with the members of Pleiades. I used the Ring of AOG to teleport to the 8th floor. It was now time to start designing it.

I disappeared from the corridors of the 9th floor and materialized on a mountain enveloped in shades of grey. This was the unfinished 8th floor.

I began looking around for Blue Planet and Punitto Moe. They both were helping me design this floor.

Blue: "Momonga-san!"

I heard Blue Planet's voice from the base of the mountain. I looked down and sat both of them standing there. I used the Ring and teleported near them.

Momonga: "Hello, guys."

Punito: "Hey."

Blue: "Hello there, Momonga-san."

Momonga: "Are you all ready to create the most challenging floor?"

Blue: "Yeah!"

Momonga: "Let's get started then."

We already had a design; the only thing left was to make it in the game. The 8th floor was going to be the 2nd largest floor. It spanned 18 sq km.

Momonga: "Blue Planet-san, you start working on the sky. Punitto, let's start working on the terrain."

We decided to fill the floor with 3 areas;

The Wicked Forest.

The Scorching Desert.

High Peak Fields.

First, we started working on the Wicked Forest. After working for a few hours, we were done with the first area, which covered an expansive area of 6 square kilometres. This area was richly adorned with diverse varieties of trees, ferns, vines, and other vegetation. But it didn't have any monsters, area guardians, traps, etc.

In our design, we decided to leave monsters, traps, etc. For the future. We were only designing the floor, not adding any functionality.

Momonga: "Let's go to the next area."

Punitto Moe nodded, and we made our way to the next area.

The second area we worked on was The Scorching Desert. It took us less time to design this area than the previous one. It had an arid landscape, cacti spread all over, sandy mountains in the distance, and an oasis in the middle.

Blue: "The sky is done."

Punitto: "Hmm. Let's move on to the final area."

We went back to the mountain and started working on the final area. It took the longest to design. In the end, it featured high-rise mountains, rugged caves, and rocky terrain, adding to its diverse landscape.

Punitto: "Phew, we are finally done."

Blue: "It took longer than expected."

We've been working for 7 hours straight and were only able to design the floor. The real challenge was yet to begin.

Momonga: "Well, I hope you're excited for the next part."

Punitto: "I'm just happy that we don't need to do it today."

Blue: "I have nothing to fear. I am not included in the next part."

Punitto: "Huh! Lucky Bastard."

Momonga: "Language, Punitto."

Punitto: "Sorry, Momo."

Momonga: "It's fine. We should log off and rest for the night. Tomorrow, when Garnet comes online, we will start the next part."

Punitto: "Understood."

Momonga: "See you guys tomorrow, then."

I used my console and logged off.

~Scene Change~

I logged in and appeared on the base of the mountain.

Garnet: "Morning, Momonga-san."

Garnet and Punitto were standing on the base of the mountain. After initial greetings, we started discussing traps and gimmicks for the 8th floor.

Garnet was a professional programmer and a gimmick enthusiast. He had a humanoid figure with robotic features, like glowing eyes, black lines running across his face, wires visible from certain parts of his body, etc.

Punitto: "I think we should first focus on traps."

Momonga: "I agree. Let's start with teleportation traps. Punitto, you can begin indicating trigger locations as we proceed with arranging the rooms."

Punitto: "Sure!"

Momonga: "Let's go."

We needed to set up the rooms where the invaders would be transported. The first step was to make the rooms. We chose the High Peak Fields for this purpose.

After selecting a suitable cave, we entered it and started making the trap room. Each room was to feature a distinct trapsome containing lava, others poison, and a few housing monsters. Our initial choice was a monster-spawning trap.

The concept involved triggering the monster spawner upon an intruder's teleportation; the monster spawner would activate and spawn high-level monsters.

There was more to it, like reading the intruder's race and deciding the race for the monster.

Arranging the room and configuring the monster spawner consumed an hour of our time. Even though it took us an hour, the monster spawner could only spawn monsters of level 50 or below.

The races of the monsters were also limited. To elevate the monsters' levels and diversify their types, we required a substantial quantity of Data Crystals.

Garnet: "Well, Momonga-san, I think you can use Data Crystalls later. We should start working on the next trap room."

I nodded, and we left the trap room.

With a substantial stockpile of high-level Data Crystals at my disposal, I made the decision to allocate them to both the traps on this floor and for personal use.
