Chapter 26: Chapter 26: King's Aura

In the middle of a commercial street, Lake sighed to himself as he looked at the two women who were walking in front of him, arms crossed with one another.

A few hours ago, Evelyn had called him wanting to congratulate him on passing the Martial Arts Entrance Exam. However, since his sister was the one who answered the phone, she had a nice "chat" with Evelyn before inviting her to go shopping with them.

Unfortunately, under Lilia's "persuasive" words, Evelyn didn't have the chance to refuse and was dragged alongside Lake to Lilia's shopping trip.

Looking at the two girls in front of him, Lake couldn't help but sigh again. When Lilia first met Evelyn, she had a look in her eyes as if she had just found a treasure.

She excitedly approached Evelyn and started to bombard her with questions. As Lilia lobbed question after question at the poor girl, Evelyn began shrinking in on herself, almost looking like a frightened bunny, which both Lake and Lilia had found extremely cute.

After having talked for a bit though, Lake marveled at how fast these two women bonded together. Looking at how they're talking now, Lake started to question whether he was the sibling or Evelyn.

After the two hit it off, Lake was left to quietly follow behind, a job he didn't mind as it allowed him to test out some of the new skills he had acquired yesterday.

One of the skills he had tested was Observer of Fate's second level. While walking he had constantly been observing the fate of the people around him to test out the new function of the skill.

[Observer of Fate lv.2 - As the Master of Fate, you can clearly see through the fate of others as if you were reading a book. At the current level you can observe the past of the target and can foretell the fortune of the target within the next 24 hours.]

Since Observer Of Fate had been upgraded, Lake could see deeper into the fates of those around him, now being able to peer into the future and see the fortunes of his targets for the next 24 hours. This ability was extremely unique and quite frankly, from what Lake had observed so far, overpowered.

When Lake looked at people's fate now, he could see an additional halo that hovered above their thread of fate. This halo radiated a unique color depending on the type of fortune a person was going to have that day.

By using his Observer of Fate skill on these halos, Lake was able to get a glimpse of what the fortune entails for that person. This ability is equivalent to allowing him to look directly into the future! Although he could only see a glimpse of the future and it is restricted to whatever fortune that person has destined for that day, the fact remained that Lake could see into the future now.

Lake had been testing this ability on random passersby while he was walking behind Evelyn and Lilia which had allowed him to observe some fairly interesting fates.

He saw the future of a guy who managed to win a small amount of money on the lotto. He also saw the future of a man who was destined to get into a fight with his friend later today. One of the more interesting fates that Lake was able to see was the fate of a woman who was going to become pregnant later today. That fortune in particular had left a lasting impression on Lake as he knew that it was going to be difficult to find out exactly which of the men the father was going to be.

Shaking his head, Lake kept his gaze on the two girls walking in front of him. He had already read the fortune of the two girls as they were the first targets that he had tested it out on.

It was because of this that he knew that any second now that he was going to get the chance to test out another one of his new skills. Looking ahead, Lake smiled to himself as he silently thought, "Right on time."

"Hey beautiful, do you have time to hang out with me and my buddies? We don't mind if you bring your sister with you either."

In front of Lilia stood a group of three men. They all appeared to be relatively young, probably around their early twenties. However the smell of alcohol was strongly radiating from their bodies indicating that the group had been drinking while the sun was still up.

Evelyn was slightly intimidated by the group as Lilia stepped in front of her. However she quickly took another step back upon smelling the pungent smell of alcohol.

Lilia frowned as she looked at the group of men, "I'm sorry, but we don't have the time, now if you'll please excuse us."

Lilia tried to walk away from the group while still holding onto Evelyn, however one of the other men quickly moved to block her path forward.

"Woah there, not so fast miss, my friends weren't done talking to you, hehe."

"Is that so? Well if you didn't realize, I was clearly done talking to you." Lilia said as she looked at the young men in front of her with a frown.

However, in the next instance, her face suddenly turned calm as if she just remembered something. It was truly a strange sight to see her facial expression change so fast. If one were to look closer, they would actually realize that she was actually restraining herself from smiling as if she just thought of something funny.

The group of drunk young men didn't seem to have noticed this small detail however, as they slowly closed in on her.

"Tsk tsk, that just won't do. You may have finished with us, but we are still far from down with you, hehehe." The young man that previously blocked them off said as he reached his hand out to grab Lilia's arm, "Why don't we take this conversation to a more private location. I'm sure me and my friends can entertain you greatly, hehehe."

The man was about to grab Lilia's arm when he suddenly noticed that she had started smiling, causing him to be momentarily stunned.

A loud noise emanated as the young man stepped back as he screamed in pain. His hand had been hit back by a heavy force causing him to take a few step backs. His hand had turned completely red as tears streaked down his face.

The other two young men were completely stunned upon seeing their friend crying. After a bit, the two turned their gaze to the man that had suddenly appeared out of nowhere.

Lake was standing between the two groups as he casually looked down on the young man whose hand he had just slapped away.

Sweeping his cold eyes towards the other two men, Lake spoke in a deep voice, "Tsk, trying to forcefully pick up girls in the middle of such a bustling and crowded street. I guess your group simply has no regard for the law."

Looking at the young man who was younger than themselves, the group of men were instantly enraged upon hearing the young man's condescending tone.

They immediately wanted to retaliate as one of them started to shout at Lake, "Listen here, Brat! Do you-"

However, before he could finish speaking, he suddenly stopped mid sentence as a strong suppressive aura enveloped the surroundings. Instantly everyone in the area stopped what they were doing. The originally crowded street that was bustling with noise had turned silent.

Both the people who had secretly stopped to watch the commotion and those who were just walking past had stopped in place as they all lowered their heads. Some were shaking in fear while others were sweating nervously. They didn't know why they felt this way but they all felt that there was a presence in the area that had completely left them in awe and fear, as if royalty had descended.

The three men that were originally drunk fell to their knees as they all shook in an unbelievable amount of fear, not daring to look up at the young man in front of them.

Looking at the surrounding scene, Lake was stunned. When the group of men had started to argue with him he had activated the skill, "Demeanor of a King" in order to see how powerful the aura would be.

He had originally thought that it would have left a little feeling of awe in those around him while giving off a slightly intimidating aura to the three men. What he didn't expect was to completely suppress everyone on the street without lifting a single finger!

Turning around, Lake could see that even Evelyn and Lilia had been slightly suppressed as they also lowered their heads. Seeing this, Lake immediately retracted the "King's Aura", the name he had come up with for the domineering energy inside him that came with the "Demeanor of a King" skill.

After the King's Aura had been withdrawn, the people in the street suddenly felt as if they had regained the ability to move as they carefully looked around for the who or whatever had radiated that terrifying aura.

However, when they raised their head, all they could see was three kneeling men shaking on the floor as they pressed their heads against the ground.

The person they were kneeling to however, had completely disappeared from the street along with the two women.

The people that were closer to the three men had their nose assaulted by a pungent smell of urine. When they looked at the source, they found that the three men had peed themselves.
