Chapter 30: Exam Part 4

The higher-ups in the school were in chaos as they tried to find the identity of the person they believe brought a beast back from the dead. The problem was that as the footage of the area was taken it was super blurry and scrambled before going completely out after the beast started to move again. Though the movement of the beast and the area that it occurred was not lost to them.

(In the school.)

"What should we do Mr. Principal! The ability that could be here is quite amazing! It might be worth stopping this group's exam to find the person as quickly as possible. While we may not know who the person with the ability is or the group that houses said person we do know which group started close to the area and if we rush there now we're sure to find them." An investor said to the principal of the school with hopes of finding this potentially amazing student.

John Silver, otherwise known as the school's Principal, looked at the investor with a thoughtful expression before answering, "We will not cancel the exam for anything. While this ability is quite intriguing, I believe that we will find out who has it naturally without having to risk the results of groups of students. Also, it seems that no one in this group has an ability on file that resembles anything of this nature which means that someone is helping hide this person, and not only that but they have been able to stop our cameras from picking up a clear feed. We will watch them longer before making a decision." The principal stated calmly as he watched the large monitor in front of him that displayed parts of the arena however all of the feeds were reduced to static and nonclear images besides the tally of the beasts that have been slain so far.

"Sounds good. Talk to you soon." The investor said before leaving the principal's office. The principal then moved his gaze towards the number of kills by each current group.

[Group 1: 2 Kills] [Group 2: 1 Kill] [Group 3: 2 Kills]

'If it were not for the fact all the groups killed a beast within the first few minutes it would be easier to decipher who resurrected the beast even without the cameras but sadly it seems we won't be able to use that.' 'It also seems we will have very promising and interesting individuals join the school this year.' The principal smiled with a smug face.

(In the exam arena.)

"With the help of that Rattler we are almost invincible!" Ken shouted in happiness as he pulled his shield out from another Rattler.

People like Ashly and Emma even had smiles on their faces as they saw how easy taking down a beast was at this point.

When the group finally decided to start hunting again they actually rode on top of the Rattler as they made their way through the forest to find some beasts. It took many of them a moment to get used to riding atop a large snake but nonetheless, they made it and eventually found another Rattler of the same rank as the first one.

This one however was quite awake and even attacked first as it saw them on top of the Rattler. The formation this time was completely different as their situation had also changed drastically with the addition of a new teammate and possibly more. There was no defense and offense between everyone now as the Rattler was used as the ultimate distraction and defense while also being able to help a little with the attacks coming out.

'This thing is amazing.' Everyone thought in their minds after the first battle with the Rattler alongside them.

Kaden also couldn't help but be mesmerized but the sheer amount of help and ease the Rattler gave which made him even more excited when they killed one more of them, 'I should be able to add this one to the family and so on until I finally have my own army!' Kaden thought to himself as he made his way to the body of the Rattler which now had a floating soul appearing right above the body of the deceased beast.

He then repeated the same process as the first Rattler under the watchful and curious gaze of the people in his group as they hadn't given any attention to it the first time. After using his ability on the Rattler, Kaden felt another surge of energy within him and looked at his class to be stunned once more.

'This temporary tag is here again! I wonder what it could mean.' Kaden thought to himself as he looked at the tags given not only to the Rattlers but now to his rank as well.

"We should get moving again. The time is halfway up and there is still a lot of beasts left to hunt before we can consider ourselves even close to being safe." Ashly said commanding the group and assuming the lead role once more during the exam.

'She's really good at that.' Kaden thought to himself with a smile at how she unconsciously began taking the lead in situations such as this.

The plan was then re-made once more since they now had 2 Rattlers by their side. The plan was to split the group into two with both groups having their own Rattler to ride and make their way through the forest. During this time each group will take down as many beasts as they can while having Kaden revive them from the dead and then send them out as well to hunt even more beasts.

"This plan could make this easier than we could have ever imagined!" Ken said with shock as he thought about the effects the plan would have once they got a decent amount of beasts on their side.

"Indeed, this could be quite amazing if everything goes well but we all have to do our part to make sure that no mistakes happen," Ashly said with Emma agreeing.

"Now let's get to work!" Ashly finished with enthusiasm making everyone else cheer with excitement and begin boarding their Rattlers.
