From Soldier to Officer: A Game Addict's Journey

Chapter 30

Chapter 30

“Attention!”

“At ease!”

“Turn right!”

On the basketball court, the three classes were separated and led by their respective leaders. Wang Ye’s class, Class Five, was still under the command of Ye Sanshi. The entire class took up a designated area on the court and practiced the rotation method, with each member taking turns to turn around.

“Zhang Ping’an, you idiot! What are you doing?” Ye Sanshi cursed, looking at Zhang Ping’an’s flushed face. “I don’t know if your reflexes are broken, but why are you always one step behind everyone else?” he continued to berate him.

Wang Ye looked at Zhang Ping’an, who was the first to turn around, feeling helpless. There was nothing he could do to help.

“Continue! Look left and right again. Watch how I deal with you!” Ye Sanshi scolded fiercely, staring at Zhang Ping’an.

Ye Sanshi looked at everyone once again and shouted, “Attention!” This time, everyone stood at attention without any issues. Although Zhang Ping’an seemed a little slow, he managed to catch up.

However, when Ye Sanshi commanded them to turn left again, Zhang Ping’an’s footsteps became flustered. He waited for everyone else to lift their feet before nervously glancing at the recruits beside him, and then hurriedly followed with hurried footsteps.

Ye Sanshi suppressed the urge to jump up and kick him, reminding himself that Zhang Ping’an was the future cook of the kitchen, and he needed to endure it.

“Hu ~!”

He took a deep breath.

Ye Sanshi walked up to Zhang Ping’an, and as he lowered his head in fear, Ye Sanshi held back his temper and spoke kindly. “Don’t be nervous,” he said. “Remember, the moment you hear my command, turn to the left immediately. Don’t hesitate. I won’t scold you even if you make a mistake.”

Zhang Ping’an raised his head, still looking unsure. But he wasn’t the only one. The other recruits, especially Deng Hai, seemed to be equally stunned.

But Ye Sanshi’s demeanor quickly changed, and he reverted back to his strict self. “What are you looking at?” he barked. “I’m specifically referring to Zhang Ping’an. He has a chef’s license. What about you? Do you have the ability? If you don’t, then behave yourself. If you make a mistake, look at my size 42 soles. I’ll kick you or not!”

Reality hit hard, and the recruits of Class Five began to realize the harshness of military camp life.

Ye Sanshi’s words didn’t sit well with some of the recruits, who thought that he was giving Zhang Ping’an preferential treatment just because he had a chef certificate. However, no one dared to speak up and challenge him.

In the eyes of many recruits, the kitchen was seen as a place for the “useless” soldiers, and they believed that they had come to the army to shoot guns, play with cannons, and drive tanks.

They were all 18 or 19-year-old boys who had not yet experienced the devastating realities of society. Nevertheless, they maintained their purest understanding of the world. Foll𝑜ow current novÊls on nov3lb((in).(com)

Only Wang Ye knew that the kitchen squad was an excellent opportunity for ordinary soldiers. However, he was not one of them. Ever since he had made the decision to join the army and awakened his system, it was clear that he would not be able to remain a mere soldier.

With this thought in mind, Wang Ye’s body and mind sprang into action as Ye Sanshi issued another order.

“The skill transformation is successful!” Wang Ye wondered how useful the skill would be after its transformation. In truth, he could still perform the task flawlessly without relying on the skill. Nonetheless, he decided to test it out. After all, it was a free opportunity to try. Who knows, there might be benefits to upgrading the skill.

…..

“Fuck your mother, who do you think you are!” Suddenly, a furious roar erupted from not far away.

Suddenly, all the students in Class Five turned their heads to look. Ye Sanshi followed suit and in the next moment, he disregarded the students and sprinted over.

“Holy crap, that guy is fighting with their class monitor!” exclaimed one of the students.

Deng Hai, who was standing beside Wang Ye, widened his eyes in surprise.

“What a fierce person!” Gu Yingnan remarked.

In fact, they were not the only ones shocked by the sudden altercation. The rest of Class Five were equally dumbfounded.

Over in the training area for Class Four, a recruit was seen in a heated argument with their squad leader. Suddenly, things escalated and they started physically fighting with each other. It was as though they had lost their minds, and in a matter of moments, both of them were lying on the ground.

The other recruits from Class Four stood by, looking as though they wanted to intervene and stop the fight, but they merely surrounded the two fighters and did nothing else. Someone from the crowd shouted out, “Stop fighting! What are you doing? Stop!”

In that moment, Ye Sanshi rushed over, shouting from a distance of a dozen meters away. Once he finished speaking, he sprinted forward.

Unlike the other recruits, Ye Sanshi was not unreliable. When he arrived at the scene, he immediately bent down and stretched out his hand to pull the fighters apart.

Under his lead, the group of Class Four recruits finally took action. One of them embraced the recruit who had been fighting with their squad leader. The recruit, still shouting at the top of his lungs, protested, “I didn’t come here to be tortured! Bastard, my parents have never hit me. What right do you have to hit me?” As he protested, his legs flailed wildly in the air.

Now that he had been pulled away, the recruit could only kick at the air, unable to continue the fight. It was evident from his behavior that he had lost his mind or was so enraged that he had thrown caution to the wind.

“This guy won’t back down even after getting beaten up!” remarked Deng Hai, grinning as he watched the scene unfold.

“Our role model!” added Wan Baojiang.

Wang Ye looked at Wan Baojiang with a sense of disbelief. This was the same person who had nearly fought with Ye Sanshi in the early hours of the morning. Wang Ye wondered if Ye Sanshi had dared to retaliate back then, would Wan Baojiang have been able to resist the urge to counterattack.

“Hehe, Brother Wan, you’re quite something!” another recruit remarked, recalling Wan Baojiang’s earlier performance.

At that moment, someone couldn’t help but ask, “Do you think we should go over and watch the show?”

Because he saw that not only the sixth squad leader, but also the second platoon leader and the new recruits of their squad also ran over. All of a sudden, everyone in Class Five was a little tempted.

Deng Hai rolled his eyes and said, “If we run over and say that we’re helping, the class monitor won’t scold us.”

“Let’s go then!” agreed the other recruits.

With that, the once obedient recruits of Class Five were now running over to the scene of the fight, including Wang Ye.

The recruits of Class Five had only come to watch the fight. It was in their nature to enjoy such entertainment. They wanted to be closer to the action to see it more clearly.

“Class monitor, we’re here to help!” shouted Deng Hai, even before they arrived.

Ye Sanshi, who was carrying the fourth squad leader, glared at them when he saw the recruits of the fifth squad approaching. “Are you trying to stir shit? Get lost,” he barked at them.

Despite his admonition, the recruits didn’t leave. Instead, they stopped running but remained standing where they were. They were now only about ten meters away, which was close enough to see the fight clearly.
