Chapter 11: Powerscaling Test (3)

It had been 15 minutes since Kyle's elimination, and during that time, I had killed a few more monsters and made it a point to avoid meeting anyone else.

"I should be close."

And just as I thought, I had arrived at the edge of a cliff and was now looking down, it was a pretty long fall, but the bottom was visible.

"It's here!" I enthusiastically said, after around 2h30 of searching and risking my life, I finally found it: the dwarve base.

There was a small opening inside the cliff, and a hole the size of a child was visible, one I could definitely squeeze through if I tried hard enough.

Afterward I went down the cliff and landed safely on the ground.

Then I entered the cave and started exploring.

At the entrance of the cavern, there was a large amount of torches and a big table made of rock, and on top of the table was a map of the surrounding area, this was the dwarve's camp.

"This will be useful" I mumbled while taking a torch and trying hard to remember the map in the shortest amount of time, Daemon would be here in less then three minutes which meant I needed to be quick.

After diving deeper into the cave, I had realized just how big and hard to navigate it was, and the cherry on the top was that the novel had not described the main character's journey through the cave at all.

I had obviously on the way met a bunch of dwarves, which I quite easely eliminated using my new skill, but it doesn't mean i'm not lost.

"I think I've been here before?"

I was currently looking at a very similar corridor and could feel that i've seen this place, which could only mean one thing:

I had made a huge circle and was back to the start.

"Fuck!"

Now the test had been going for more than 2h40, meaning the possibility of me finding the thing

"No... I just need to try again and hurry"

[Skill: Trial and Error, activated]

For some reason, the moment the skill activated, I instinctively felt like I knew the way towards the location I wanted to go to.

So without any hesitation, I went through the corridors and rooms at full speed, ignoring everything else, and finally after less then five minutes of sprinting, I saw a room with a huge door.

"Finally"

The novel said that the door was originally closed, but seeing it open right now meant that Daemon was currently inside.

"Meh~ doesn't matter" I shrugged.

And so I walked in, and what greeted me was the sight of a blonde haired man fighting a gigantic monster.

It had a green skin and was atleast 25 meters tall, his hands were big enough to crush a whole car and his legs were extremely powerful.

It was a giant, and a really dangerous one too: the dwarve king.

A dwarve is an extremely weak monster, but once in a while, one will rise and through effort will become strong enough to become a king and lead the rest, he is the strongest monster in the forest.

But also the one who gave the most points.

"Die." the protagonist's words brought me back to reality as I saw him with one punch smash the giant's face, and yet it didn't flinch.

"DIE, DIE, DIEEE!"

"Holy shit, is he alright...?"

Everytime Daemon was hit with the king's weapon (a giant wooden club), his body would resist and his rage would grow stronger, the more he was damaged, the harder he would hit, yet the dwarve king seemed just like him.

"So boring..." I sighed while yawning.

I sat back agaisn't a wall with my torch in hand and looked as the two kept exchanging blows.

But after around five minutes, a voice sounded inside of my head, and probably inside of Daemon's too as his expression changed.

[Hello to all the students still alive in the test!]

[There are only five minutes left before you will all be transferred back to the ARR, use them wisely!]

Hearing that, Daemon stepped back from the king and finally decided it was time to get serious as he pulled his demon sword or whatever and enveloped it in fire magic, just like he did with me.

"Welp, looks like it's time for me to step in" I got up and approached Daemon and the king as they were about to battle again.

But before they could do anything, I quickly rushed in the dwarve king's direction and pointed the torch in his eye after jumping to it's head level, I was quite surprised by my newfound agility but I guess the Trial and Error skill was really useful.

"GAAAH!"

And of course, the giant started screaming in pain and holding his eye.

Daemon seemed obviously confused seeing me arrive out of nowhere, but he then quickly assessed the situation and used the opportunity I gave him to cut off it's arms and then it's head, thus defeating it.

"FUCKING FINALLY GHAHAHAHA" he shouted while laughing hysterically.

[Dwarve King elimination, +100 points]

Wait what? I knew the dwarve king would give this much points but I didn't expect me to also get such a huge part of it as I just assisted Daemon...

Well, I guess it's fine.

[3 minutes left before the end of the test]

It looked like there was still a bit of time before we would be teleported away.

Which meant...

"Hey, what the fuck are you doing here?" Daemon asked me.

"I found the hole in the cliff and tried to go through it to hide, but looks like I found something dangerous..." I replied while acting confused.

"..." he was trying to see if I lied, but then he just shrugged it off, "well, it doesn't matter, don't annoy me kid."

An attitude worthy of the main character, you could of atleast thanked me you know? Well he would have won if he was alone but still... Updat𝒆d fr𝒐m nov𝒆lb(i)n.c(o)m

I spent the remainder of the time just wondering about what I should be doing next.

[Anger meter: 94/100]

I hadn't used my anger meter at all during the test... I guess it does take a long time to fill it huh... I would have sworn it would have filled by the time I reached the dwarve king so that I would be able to fight it.

Oh well, i'll just have to use it for another thing...

But as I thought of this, I heard the final announcement.

[Test finished, congratulations to those who achieved a high amount of points, the results will be displayed shortly after your return.]

And then everything turned white after the message.
