Lee Tian lay on a moss-covered rock, his body expanding with his new level.
“I could take you down with just one hand!” he boasted, lifting the scythe in his left hand before kicking the centipede carcass aside.
His smile faded as he caught sight of his missing right arm, and silence took over.
The loss of his hand still gnawed at him.
Lee Tian murmured to himself, a thought slowly crystallizing in his mind.
Then, after intense contemplation, inspiration struck!
He leapt to his feet, exclaiming with excitement, “Lizard!”
Many lizards, like geckos, drop their tails to escape danger, only to regrow them later.
Lee Tian reflected on his recent gains: the silk-spitting talent from spiders, the harvest talent from mantises, and now the venom talent from the deadly centipede. Could the lizard’s talent be limb regeneration?
“If the lizard’s talent is indeed limb regeneration, then acquiring it could mean my right hand would grow back!” Lee Tian’s excitement was palpable as he bounced on the limestone, envisioning his new right arm.
As he leaped, a long tongue shot towards him like a streak of lightning from the corner of his eye.
“Lizard!” Lee Tian cried out, thrilled.

The lizard’s tongue was swift, but Lee Tian’s Scythe Hand was swifter.
“You’re finished!” he scoffed, as his Harvest Talent surged.
The Harvest Talent allowed his Scythe Hand to slash with the speed of a lightning bolt, swiftly dispatching his prey.
Lee Tian’s left Scythe Hand met the lizard’s tongue, severing a piece of it in an instant.
The lizard swiftly withdrew the remaining half of its tongue before shaking its head in agony.
Realizing it was no match for the ant before it, the lizard flicked its tail, severing half of it in a desperate move. The severed tail writhed on the ground, a ploy to distract its pursuer, as the lizard made a break for it.
Lee Tian wasn’t fooled for a second.
“Don’t run!” he yelled.
With that, he took off in hot pursuit of the lizard.
A chase unfolded in the jungle, a small ant in a frenzied pursuit of a lizard.
The lizard’s speed was incredible, and it wasn’t long before it had left Lee Tian trailing in the distance.
Exhausted and panting, the lizard finally collapsed, unable to run any further.
Lee Tian watched the green lizard’s retreating figure with a twinge of regret. “Why did you have to run so fast?”
Just when Lee Tian thought his hunt had slipped away, two system beeps echoed in his mind.
