Chapter 13: Failed Escape

The next day, Pei Xin was kicked awake by the nanny just as the sun rose.

When she saw the person in front of her, she subconsciously protected the sleeping child.

The nanny's expression was harsh, and her eyes were fierce. She threw the tray of food on the table, and the juice splashed the whole table.

"You're still asleep? How can you call yourself a young miss!" The nanny's tone was filled with hostility. "If you're awake, hurry up and eat. Don't go around complaining again that you have no food."

After dinner, other than the servants who were cleaning up the house, the Lu family were all sound asleep.

In the room, Pei Xin was busy recalling her conversation with Ling Lin yesterday. The child no longer had a father. If she died on the operating table, wouldn't he become an orphan?

As if she had made up her mind, Pei Xin stood up and quickly packed her things.

"Mommy, are we leaving?" Ling Lin was woken up to wash up. He looked at Pei Xin with sparkling eyes and anticipation on his face.
